Brian Daboll of the Giants chose MetLife Stadium over any stadium in the world ahead of the Panthers’ game in Germany.
I New York Giants touched down in Germany in the team’s first international game of the season, but for head coach Brian Daboll, there’s no place like home.
The Giants are hoping that the new landscape change will help turn things around when they take over Carolina Panthers Sunday morning at Allianz Arena.
“It’s an honor for the New York Giants to be here to play in Germany, and we’re looking forward to that,” Daboll told reporters Friday after arriving in Munich.

“I’m definitely grateful for the opportunity to be here and represent the National Football League here in Germany and I’m looking to go out there and compete well,” he added later.
Despite the excitement, coaches and players have been hesitant to play for a long time NFL games overseas as travel and stadium conditions add a layer of unpredictability to their matchday preparations.
For Daboll, it seems he would rather be at home.

“MetLife Stadium,” answered the coach when asked where he would choose to play if he could choose any stadium in the world. It is worth noting that field conditions at MetLife have been around for a long time criticized by the players in the league for being at risk of injury.
Daboll added that the group had a night flight, but not everyone was able to sleep.
“You try to adjust your time clocks as best you can. . . . We’ll do our best to get used to it.”
