‘Faster pace’: Former Trump official makes prediction about administration’s aggressive border plan
The Trump administration’s border security efforts will hit rock bottom in 2025, as they have defeated “legislation” in the courts and Republican opposition during Trump’s first term, a former top official predicted while telling Fox News Digital that he is “willing and ready” to be. part of the effort to secure the border.
Mark Morgan was the acting Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the Trump administration and was a key official in the construction of hundreds of miles of border wall and the implementation of policies such as “Remain-in-Mexico.”
He said the Trump administration is likely to repeat similar border strategies that push for a combination of illegal immigration and deterrence.
‘INDEPENDENCE DAY’: WHAT TO EXPECT FROM PRESIDENT-ELECT TRUMP IN A FRIEND’S COOKING, COUNTRY ARRIVAL
“Most importantly, we’re not going to sit back. We want to try to prevent illegal immigration, we want to go after the cartels to prevent drugs, you know, from reaching our border. The border should be our last line of defense.
But Morgan believes that this time, it will work out very well. Trump struggled in his first term to overcome opposition in Congress over the construction of the walls, and he had to put structures and processes in place. His policies led to many court cases.
“We already had a chain, really a network of tools, authorities and policies that were already tested. We knew they were working,” said Morgan. “And equally important is that they have already gone through the legal process.”
He cited Safe Third Country agreements and the Remain-in-Mexico policy as examples. He also noted that mass deportations were being carried out under the Trump administration, as well as administrations before that.
“So the legal authority is already there. The foundation is already there. We’re going to have to use it like aa good government-wide steroids and increase the size of those activities,” he said.
Similarly, in the construction of the border wall, more than 450 miles have been built during the administration, and the foundations are in place to build more.

“I’m hoping that a national emergency will be declared, so that will provide and open up funding for other resources that will help us start that immediately. We won’t have to wait for Congress. But more than that, we’re already there, right?” he said. “So we already had the contracts in place before. We already have the design. We already have the plans in place … things that are already sitting there. Everything will be done very quickly. speed.”
He also said he believes that with Trump’s resounding victory in the election, and control of both chambers of Congress, there will be more action in DC.
“I think about the massive victory and the level of chaos, the lawlessness at our border that we’ve had in the last four years, I think that those Republicans who were against tougher border security measures have stayed in the shadows, they think they’re going to be forced into those shadows,” he said. “And I think we have a really good shot at permanent reform.” not just relying on higher orders.“

He said the legislation in Congress could look like the House border security bill, known as HR2, but could end up being put together differently to avoid Democratic opposition.
Regarding whether Morgan will return to government, he said it would be wrong to speculate, but said “if the president calls, there is only one answer.”

“There’s only one person who’s going to choose his cabinet and that’s going to be President Trump. So to think that any of us know exactly what those names are going to be, I think it’s misleading, we don’t know. But look, if you’re asking, I know, I’m willing and ready, and I’d be more than happy to be it’s part of the next administration to get this country back on track and secure our borders.
