Music Executive Wants Music Legend To View Nude Photos Without Permission

Halsey is one of the most influential singers of the modern era, and they (the singer uses their pronouns) have fans all over the world. Those fans were rightly shocked, however, when their favorite singer dropped a bombshell about her early days in the industry. According to Halsey, they once beat up a powerful music executive who was releasing nude photos of himself without permission.
Halsey’s Horrible Encounter
In the view of He called Dad podcast, they recounted the incident: “It was a long time ago, but I was out and I had this executive, like this powerful executive who works in music somehow.” The two went out for a “celebratory” event, and the music star noted that they “never felt unsafe” with the official. However, after Halsey gave him their phone so he could send her number for a photo of the two of them to send to her niece, they found her naked on their phone.
Halsey didn’t quite know what to do with this man staring at her nakedness illegally: “I just froze… I didn’t even know what to do,” they said. The whole thing was surreal enough that the singer thought they might have just imagined what had happened. The second is the possibility that the official may have accessed these illegal images by mistake, a reading of the aid that highlights how little the singer wanted to believe that they were being exploited in this way.
Nude Photos Can Be Anywhere Now
After that initial confusion, Halsey began to consider that the officer might have had a more sinister motive for looking at their nudity without permission. “I was like, ‘Did she send the messages to herself and then delete them?'” The singer then released one revelation about those nude photos that could make the story even worse: “I don’t even know where these are now. .’”
Impact on Halsey
Regardless of what the executive actually did with the photos in Halsey’s absence, his careless viewing of their nudity had serious consequences for the singer’s image and sense of self-confidence. “I went from, ‘Yeah I’m hot s*** [to]… You’re nothing… you’re still that girl who likes to be bullied, or like, men talk about you behind your back, or you’re just like, a pawn.’” Understandably, the singer described the event as “humiliating,” and although it wasn’t their worst experience in the industry, the incident was darkly memorable. especially “because we were not paying attention.”
At a time when allegations against Diddy threaten to expose all the dark corners of the music industry, Halsey’s thoughts about their discovery of the naked like this reveal how many powerful attackers still abuse their access to even the most famous musicians.
“I’m in this special space, I think I’ve reached the level where I’m protected,” they said, “and this offensive thing just happens automatically.” If we put it in that context, the story takes on something even darker with its vague warning: that is, if this happened to someone so rich and famous, it could happen to anyone really.
This is not the worst action taken by powerful people in the music industry…in fact, as Halsey notes, an executive reaching his nudity is not the worst incident in a singer’s personal history. Stories like these often make us wonder if the music industry is due for its own #TimesUp Hollywood movement. Until then, we’ll take our minds off the matter by enjoying Halsey’s latest album, The Great Actorwhich just came out on October 25.
